Usually Athonk's art has
been exhibited in an impromptu and opportunistic fashion. Here you can
see a laminated color copy of his poster - actually an antinuclear
statement - using 'Rolling Stones' as a way to indicate to the casual glance
that this is rock n' roll art, not social commentary. (The government was
making a big push for nuclear power plants at the time.) Where is
it being exhibited? At the photocopy room at Monash University. When
we ran off some copies of the poster, they dug the art and though it'd
be a great example of their color copy capabilities.
Below you can see another
colorful comicky poster. Most of these have been done over a period of
months if not years.
